Up For sale is this Kodak Aero-Ektar 7" F/2.5 (178mm f/2.5) 5x5 large format lens.
Although I have used this lens I'm selling it in "As-Is//For Parts" condition due to its condition. This is not a prestine condition lens!
The lens body shows evidente signs of wear and, as it can be seen in the above pictures, the paint is pealing in some areas. The Iris works as it opens and closes with marked click at the aperture f/stops. The aperture blades are oil free.There is yellowing of s...ome of the lens elements (typical with this lens).There is also some fogging inside the lens. The main issue is the front element has countless cleaning marks which do affect the image. Although you can shoot with it, the result will be a sharp but soft kind of image. The results I got from it remind me of the images produced by the famous Leitz Thambar lens (to my eyes anyway...).So if you're into this type of image this lens is for you! Despite it's imperfections this lens still preforms!
The lens comes as pictured no mounting flange and no lens hood!
