This is a vintage, Voice Recognition System called Voice Master Key. Made by Covox. The ISA board is copyright 1988, the software is copyright 1989.For use with vintage PC business and game software from the late 1980s. A very rare system! In the kit, you'll receive the following items:A) An plug-in ISA card for your vintage computer. - Has an interface with 3 jacks and a knob. Two jacks are for the microphone/headphone headset and one... jack is for your own microphone if you'd rather use your own. -Circuit board is labelled with VM-PCY 1.1 and Covox Inc. (c) 1988. B) A microphone/headphone headset with 2 plugs.C) A Voice Master Key User ManualD) A 5.25" floppy disk with the Voice Master Key Software. IBM Version 2.00. Copyright 1989. Voice Master Key is compatible with just about any MS DOS application. This includes Lotus 123, AutoCad, Word Star, Word Perfect, DBase III, MS Works, and SideKick. Voice Master Key requires only 64K memory. It is a TSR or terminate-and-stay-resident program just like SideKick or SuperKey. An example of how this Voice Master Key works:Imagine working with a CAD or desktop publishing system and you need to perform a function such as zoom or magnify. With a mouse, you do this by moving the cursor to the appropriate boxes or icons, and click the button. In addition, you may be required to enter extra keyboard data. Without a mouse, it's even more trouble. But with Voice Master Key, you simply say "Zoom" or "Magnify" and it's done! With a word processor, you can use your voice to perform commands such as underline, bold, block, move, check spelling, or print. Or use voice commands to type out commonly used words or phrases. You can define up to 256 keyboard macros in 16 levels. For custom applications, the normal "pop up" interface can be disabled and all of the functions and features of Voice Master Key can be controlled from a custom program written in C, BASIC, Pascal, or Assembler. Voice Master Key requires an IBM PC, XT, AT or compatible with at least 256K memory and a spare slot to accommodate the PC Digitizer. Also compatible with the PS/2 model 25 and 30. Slight modification required for use on Tandy 1000 series. The software is not copy protected. If you want to see a general idea of what this product is like, do a search for "Covox Voice Master" in YouTube. In the videos that pop up, you can see people doing demos of other Covox products that are similar to the Voice Master Key, but they aren't quite the same product. I am guessing some of the functions are similar and the software is similar. Condition: You will be purchasing this system untested. I purchased this system 2nd hand from a relative of the original owner who knew nothing about this item. I do not know for sure if this system works, because I do not have a system to test this board on. The ISA card doesn't appear to have been used for very long if it was used. It has no signs of wear on it. I used to be an electronics technician, and on inspection of the ISA card, I do not see any visible signs of burnt or damaged components. If you have a little skill with electronics, most of these parts should be easy to troubleshoot and replace if there are problems with the board functioning. There is some oxidation on the back side of the headphone jacks, but a little rubbing alcohol should help with that. It doesn't seem like the headset was used and is in new condition. If this system does not work and you don't want to spend the time to try to fix it, you have 30 days to return it for a refund of the item cost.
