For your consideration to bid on is an incredible vintage model built, painted and detailed by a true craftsman modeler to be the aircraft of Major Glen T. Eagleston who was the Commanding Officer of the 353rd Fighter Squadron from the 354th Fighter Group stationed in France during 1944. He flew this aircraft: ...P-47D s/n 44-20473 FT-L and amassed 18.5 aerial victories with 2 probables and 7 damaged German aircraft during the Second World War. He was the leading ace of the 9th Air Force in Europe. In sunlight this aircraft looks to be made of aluminum, which is a result of a very nice finish being put on the chrome molded parts. The Hawk kit that this was build from in the 1970’s is truly rare now and this is a good opportunity to not only add a P-47 to your collection, but to add a piece of a model company’s history to your collection.(Please look closely at the pictures.) I have made the best effort possible to photograph the plane from all angles and close up to give you a true appreciation for the quality. Countless hours were put into each one of these creations including the building, painting and decal applications. For many of this model makers products, the decals look painted on!The pictures are of the actual plane up for sale. When it is gone, it is gone. Would make a wonderful display piece alone or as part of a larger diorama. This aircraft was modeled with the landing gear retracted, if they are operational I will photo the plane with them down.This is part of a large collection that we are processing and preparing for sale. There are various scales, subject matter (Eras) and condition of aircraft. There will be lots with more than one aircraft, lots with junkyard or parts aircraft and everything in between. Plenty of opportunities for diorama or scratch-building skill improvement or refinement!Please consider following my page as I will be adding new item for the next several months. I will also build to order- only WW2 aircraft at this time. Please open the box carefully upon receipt. The aircraft will be packed as secure as possible for shipping and I will reinforce the box to prevent any risk of parts falling out during shipping. As this is a plastic model and can be fragile, it is possible that something might break off during shipping, my method for shipping will allow for the part to be located easily and re-attached. I recommend Tamiya thin cement for any repairs you might have to make.
