Apple IIGS ROM 1 Computer A2S6000 ** Clean & Tested
This auction is for an Apple IIGS Computer, as pictured. ROM 1, model # A2S6000.
Please read description completely to understand exactly what you're buying, because this is sold "as is" no returns.
Former school system property, interior was already quite clean when case was opened, and exterior has been scrubbed thoroughly with a good strong detergent and toothbrush, so it's about as clean now as it's ever going... to get. Case has some yellowing on back from age and environmental conditions, but very nice in appearance otherwise. Powers up with the informational screen followed by bouncing Apple logo, and when I held the Apple & Option keys during power-up it went into self-test, ending with "System Good" and musical audio tone. However, it seems a little flaky in two ways that I noticed, the first being that during normal power-up the speaker always outputs sound, like white noise that you would get if you tuned a radio between channels. The sound is low in volume, but definitely noticeable. It can be disabled by disconnecting the speaker connector from the board. The second is that during self-test, the display didn't show the normal color palette during the video checks, instead having odd colors of mostly green or monochrome hue. It was checked through the composite video jack, but I don't have a compatible monitor to see if it's doing the same thing from the RGB jack. I checked the battery with a volt meter and it's completely dead, so maybe that's causing the issues, I really don't know. Battery is the soldered onto board type. Case latches are good, and all the feet are there. Additional pictures beyond those in slideshow, if you scroll down through the listing. Photos are of actual item being sold, monitor & keyboard are NOT included. Fast shipping, quality packed, online trackable.
Thanks for looking and for bidding! Items normally ship the next day, two at most, after payment is received. I pack things right, feedback mentions that frequently. All items are insured to full value and trackable online.I return all feedback received, sometimes it takes me a few days, but it will happen. Items are described as accurately as possible and if said to be tested and working, then please be assured that is true. If sold "as is", buyer assumes all risk of any untested problem that may be present, with all sales final. I will NEVER auction something with known issues, without mentioning it in the listing, but I buy lots of equipment and sometimes acquire pieces that I either have no expertise to test, or don't have equipment on hand required to perform testing, so in those situations items are sold "as is". Auctions are always "what you see & read is what you get", so if something is not shown in photos or described in text, such as cables, power cords, software, etc., it's probably not included. I'll be happy to answer questions you may have, just please ask before, not after bidding.
