1960sRICHARDNIXONCAMPAIGNSOUVENIRRepublican Candidate Richard Nixon waged an unsuccessful presidential campaign in 1960 using the slogan "Click with Dick" on lithographed tin clickers and pins. He kept the snappy phrase to bring attention to his campaign for Governor of California in 1962, which he also lost. Things finally clicked for Dick when he was elected President in 1968. This 1 1/8" x 2.5" tin clicker was made by A.G. Trimbull of Pittsburgh, PA. The br...ight blue top features the lithographed image of Nixon's face to the right of the stylized CLICK with DICK slogan. Underneath it is solid red. The thumb-operated, unpainted tin clicking component is securely attached to the top piece with metal flanges on three sides. This item is still in excellent, surprisingly loud, clicking condition. Nixon's face has two small spots from age and use and there is a tiny edge nick at top right -please see the photos provided. This piece is a very clean and completely odor free.
