These MCS-80 test boards are intended to facilitate testing of Intel 8080A processors (and compatibles). The INCLUDED expansion boards allow Z80, 8085, and now NSC800 processors to be tested as well.The board consists of the base components of a MCS-80 system:8224 Clock generator: Provides 1.11MHz clock that is slow enough for all kinds of 8080 CPUs8228 System Controller and Bus Driver: Handles I/O and MCS-80 system functions40-pin ZIF socket: For the 8080 CPU – provides easy re...placement of the CPUs.2716 2KB EPROM: Holds the test program. This program handles 4 push buttons – as input – and 8 LEDs – as output devices.Brass Stand-offs: Allow the board to be set safely on your workplace/desk.The board requires a single +5V power supply (450mA) provided through a mini-USB connector. The board contains the DC-DC converters needed for providing the -5V and +12V powers required by the CPU. Power can be supplied by a typical USB wall-charger or even the USB port on most computers.There is a power failure indicator and protection circuit implemented on the board. When the input power level is less than 4.2V the failure indicator LED is illuminated and the +12V level is limited to 4V.Address, data, chip select, control and power lines are attached to the three 16-pin expansion headers (headers are now included and soldered on the board), so that the board may be used for other projects or testing purposes.Expansions:The i8085, Z80 and NSC800 expansion tools allow the MCS-80 test-board to test the function of Intel 8085 (and compatible), Z80 (and compatible) and NSC800 CPUs. The test tools are connected via the ZIF socket for the i8080 CPU and into the 3×16 pin header connectors of the MCS-80 test-board. There is no need to modify or replace anything on MCS-80 test-board. They can be easily installed and removed to test different families of processors.  The expansion tools disable the i8228 system bus controller and take over the control of MCS-80 system bus. They use the same 1.11MHz clock signal generated by i8224 clock generator.   The EPROM based test program for the i8080 also works seamlessly for 8085 and Z80 CPUs.You will receive:1x MCS-80 Test Board
