For sale is a working Macintosh II motherboard and probably one of the best example you will find. This is a very early -03 revision board. This was bought as new old stock, but I think it was part of a battery service program. The board is clean and appears un-used. Early boards had soldered on batteries. This one has the Apple board with swappable PRAM battery holders! Takes two batteries, not included (batteries are required for this machine to boot, but there is... a simple jump-start procedure found online). I think Apple pulled boards back into service for adding this battery board which would then later be sold as service parts when needed. There are no signs of corrosion, damage, etc!
Another AWESOME thing about these very early board is the lack of the nasty "tin trash can" capacitors that leak, fail and destroy traces. Without caps that cause board damage, these early revision boards always work great! In fact, that is why I bough this board but ended up with a complete early system with that same board revision. So I no longer need this spare.
No worries about wire traces on the back of the board. This was done at the factory and is normal for the -03 boards. Even the -A board have at least one wire trace on the backside.
