Okay CoCo-Nuts! You've been holding out for the ultimate CoCo? Here it is! This is a pristine machine with no case yellowing and a perfect keyboard. All keys look, travel and feel exactly the way you want them to. The case has a few scuffs on the bottom, but is in every other way (all the parts you see while using it) perfect. I'm an electronics engineer with over 25 years experience and have un-soldered the Motorola 6809 processor and replaced it with a gold-plated socketed Hitachi 63...C09, which is the high-speed capable, low power consumption version of the 6309. This chip has hardware divide, 32-bit registers and many other cool features that are unlocked in the many programs written to take advantage of it. Why stop there? I also added a CPU protection module between the CPU and the motherboard that provides full buffering for all address, data and signal connections to the processor. This is an enhanced module that not only provides protection for the CPU, but also allows memory segmentation capabilities to access the full 2048k memory upgrade. This is not the cheap knock-off $25 RAM upgrade that you see on eBay all the time. This is the one elegantly designed from scratch and painstakingly tested by people who have a passion for reliability and performance. You don't need a toggle switch to lock out the upper RAM just to make some games work, like you often see on inferior ones. It just plain works.
The beauty of all of this new hardware is that the new processor and new RAM consume far less power than the stock hardware, so not only do you get a power-packed CoCo, but you also get one that runs much cooler than even the stock machine. What's not to love!
I have gone through the machine replacing any capacitors that were under spec and have tested all of the ports, including RGB output. Just to be sure everything is up to snuff, I have run the new hardware for 48 hours of intense memory checking to be sure it's ready for whatever you can throw at it.
I even have a new name badge (fully licensed by Tandy!) and professionally produced so that you can show off your full 2048k CoCo 3!
