16mm Kodachrome Home Movie, 800ft. long. Untitled.
The film begins at an unknown city street and moves on to a beach scene. The camera pans and shows different soda brand signs, Crush, Pepsi, Inca Cola, my best guess this is a beach in Peru. These shots are very brief.
Then the film moves on to a train ride through the mountains and arrives at a busy outdoor market in La Paz, Bolivia. The camera spends a good time recording the busy market scene with wide... and close up shots from many different angles.
After the market, the cameraman moves on the main square of the city, here we see a parade with horses and carriages that go pick up some important people, politicians, possibly the president, etc. Several different shots with different people getting on the carriages.
Afterwards there are more shots of a smaller square and more market stands. Some wide panning shots of the city before leaving to a rural area of Bolivia.
The camera spends time in a small town next to a lake where some of the folks there build small boats. We see families and houses, livestock, shots of the lake and boats, a modern boat with a sign that reads' Who Cares". More market stands and a wide panning shot of a larger town.
We then see a very nice shot of a motorcade with the President of Bolivia, the town kids run right besides him as we see the full car go out of frame towards the left. What a spectacular timed shot.
The next shot is a sign that reads La Paz Bolivia, the highest commercial airport in the world, 4071 Meters. Panagra.Followed by the arrival at Estacion Aeronaval Rio Gallegos in Argentina. The camera cuts and continues with the skyline of an unknown town, some of these shots appear a little underexposed. There is a later shot in the same town that gives a clue to the town's name, the Monumental Hernando de Magallanes. The town is Punta Arenas, Chile. The cameras goes on to record many different angles from high above around this town.
The film ends with a shot from the airplane flying above the mountains.
If you are into these films, I am sure you will enjoy watching the entire film. The screen samples are just the tip of the reel, it is well a documented trip with wide and close up shots. I do have more screen grabs of the mentioned scenes available by message if interested.
No vinegar smell, missing leader and title cards, no film can, 800ft of film on a 1200ft reel. The film projects fine and retains a beautiful color. Sold as found.
