This is a very pretty vintage Sterling Silver brooch. I would date it as late Art Deco, as the pin is an early rollover clasp, which first appeared in the late 1930's. It has a lovely design, with a bar, and a large round setting in the centre, that has a lovely openwork design at the back. It is set with a beautiful faceted Citrine stone, with small sparkly Marcasite stones around the edge. It is on my desk at the moment, and I notice that the bright Marcasites reflect the sparkl...e of the Citrine - very pretty. It is in excellent condition, and measures 2 and 5/8th inches across.I am away until 25th, so will answer any questions as soon as I get back. Now a little information about postage.Most jewellery items come in new black cardboard or plastic jewellery boxes, with white wadding, and bubble wrap, for extra safety. These are then sent in jiffy bags, so all items should be very secure. The only exceptions to this are more delicate items, glass, china etc., that need added protection. These are sent in solid jewellery boxes, sometimes used, but always in very good condition. If you want an item for a present, and need a special box, do let me know, as I can normally find something appropriate to send it in. My standard UK postal charge of £2.20 covers the cost of postage, box, jiffy bag, bubble wrap etc. I am having to revise my postage rates for International Postage, as Royal Mail increased the rates from April 2014, but do remember, as always, I am happy to combine postage on any items that are paid for at the same time.
