Manufactured by IBM in Scotland in1999, these 380 series laptops were strongly built, designed for business on the move.
The 380XD was a successful upgrade from the initial 380D model.  With Floppy Drive and CD-ROM built-in, a USB port and internet access capability it was (and still is) ideal for tough portable use, or as alternative to desk PCs.
It has a Pentium MMX processor, running at 233or 266mhz; 96mb RAM; currently runs Wind...ows 2000 Pro on a 10gb hard disk.
Comes with Mains Charger; Docking Station; plus a copy of Win2000 Pro, and startup and recovery disks
Much printed information, and floppy disks with original driver software
Original boxed version of Microsoft Works 2000
It has new spares for Hard Drive Fixing Kit and Caddy; Power input socket
(No idea why as these on laptop are working fine!?!);  2 New CMOS batteries

This unit is in good clean cosmetic condition, and looks almost new.Small gap in casing above CD-ROM (see photo 4) does not affect use.
Unlike more flimsy modern alternatives, the laptop is a creature of its time, a reassuringly solid black slab, weighing 7lbs due to the peripherals all being built-in.  Care should be taken not to leave it on the floor; trip over it and you'll break a toe!!!
