From an estate of a local ham, I will be listing both his equipment and equipment he had inherited from his father. This auction is for a Sony ICF-2010 - generally considered one of the very best Portable Shortwave/World Band Receivers ever built. The Sony ICF-2010 had one of the longest production runs of any radio, being manufactured from 1985 to 2002. What makes this particular ICF-2010 special - with it's very late Serial No. of 363502 - it has all of the design improvemen...ts updated over the years - Sony added upgraded diodes and components to provide additional grounding and capacitor suppression reducing any static and possible damage not only to Q303 but to sensitive logic chips on the CPU and signal board.Receiver has been well maintained and fully operational: Battery compartment spotless. Keypad, slider controls - all clean and functional.Original telescopic whip antenna, straight and tight, stands rigid at all angles.Amazing audio, selectivity and sensitivity.
