AS I DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO SEE IF THEY WORK PROPERLY.REMEMEBER, YOU ARE BUYING THEM AS IS WITH NO WARANTEE GIVEN or IMPLIED FOR PARTS OR REPAIR! These are unmarked but from the shape & large nut on the back they are most likely RCA.
I searched the internet & after a couple of years, 4 or 5 search engines & thousands of photos I cannot find a pair or even 1 like these. The surrounds are leather, the leather is not ripped & is soft esp. for something of this age. The 1st driver 1 shown has a tear of about 2” from the surround into the cone. I did nothing to it, no repairs on my part. There may also be a couple of small punctures...check the photographs.They have cloth on the back & cover the interesting & unusual Spring mechanism these have, I pulled the cloth back to show as much as I could. I’VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT & ASSUME IT IS THERE TO KEEP TENSION ON THE CONE/SURROUND AS IT IS LEATHER & COULD STRETCH (sorry on the caps). Just a guess as to why the springs but they appear to be the original & cones are tight.
I had to cut open the boxes at just the right place & pull them out,
Unscrew them & Photograph them, check them on the ohm meter again from when I put them in the box to ship 4 years ago then put them back together.
They were just as I put them in the box 4 years ago & had them sold for $4000! WE had a problem with overseas shipping insurance
(REMEMBER, THESE MUST BE INSURED), & I cancelled the sale. I am taking a huge loss due to Health Issues
or would buy what is needed to fire them up & maybe use them. BUT, we are very unwell.
If you know the model, maker or date please let me know. I now have the photos & impedance value shown or both drivers listed. SPEAKER #1...VOICE COIL OHMS 13.4 (it bounces at 13.4 to 13.5 Ohms depending where I place the probe)
FIELD COIL IS 1018 OHMS. Again this bounces around a little down to 1012SPEAKER #2...VOICE COIL OHMS 12.9 (it bounces at 12.9 to 13.1 Ohms depending where I place the probe)
FIELD COIL IS 992 OHMS. Again this bounces around a little.
I have them shown in the boxes (that held new sound reinforcement speakers) with a wooden top & about 5 layers of cardboard on top that are glued together on top of that with 2” X 2” corners & a ½” wooden bottom. They weigh about 63-65 pounds each & are about 22” X 21” X 16” high. I used a piece of plywood on each over the driver that had 15” drivers mounted on it to screw to the speaker to the bottom board & hold the speaker tightly. If an screws came through the bottom but I broke them off the best I could. There is a layer of foam on the bottom & over the driver to protect from rubbing on the top board. So they are well protected with super thick cardboard & plywood. These were not to be shipped as I did not feel well but was talked into packing them & did not charged for the job…
it was a long process & the only reason they did not go is because the guy picked a shipper that did not insure electronics.
I INSIST ON THE MAXIUM INSURANCE ON EACH BOX SENT VIA 2 BOXES! I MAY STOP THE SALE & CHANGE SHIPPING OR INFORMATION AT ANY TIME
THESE ARE RARE...NEVER HAD SO MUCH PROBLEMS SELLING A GREAT SET OF RARE SPEAKERS IN 20 YEARS!
