This is a wonderful antique circa 1870's crazy quilt which is attached to the original paper on which it was stitched, it measures 46 by 38". This incredible piece features fan designs, tiny flowers, feather stitching, embroidery, pictorials and fabulous antique prints. ....all done on gorgeous silks and velvets. The pictorials include: butterflies, bugs, a crane, little girl in bonnet, boy fishing, moon face, moon, chick, birds, flowers and several more. This is one of the most i...ntricate patterns I have seen and I love the silk crushed rose last pic. The paper has almost a fabric feel to it and keeps the quilt nice and sturdy. Because it has no border, it allows you to choose whatever you like to go around it, even another antique silk or lace if you have access to. If you decide to use the blocks individually there are twenty 9" squares! In excellent antique condition, this would be gorgeous for pillows, doll beds or other projects. I have shown it here on a child's antique trundle bed with some antique dolls, it is also a great size to display on the wall.
