Vintage Black White Silk Ombre Embroidered Spider Chrysanthemum Piano Shawl
This vintage Art Deco black and white silk ombre embroidered spider chrysanthemum piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of a white silk fabric, with black, gray to white varying color ombre embroidery work of Japanese spider chrysanthemum flowers. There is a white silk hand knotted macrame fringe with a few black ombre strands woven in. The shawls fabric square measures 56 ...by 56 inches, with 22 inch long fringe surrounding the entire shawl. It is in good as-is condition, has not been cleaned with a few faint small yellow stains scattered (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Japonism Chinoiserie Orientalism wearable art!
