Antique Violin, Bow& Case, Jacobus Stainer in Absam probe Oenipontum 1735 Recentlyacquired from a collectors estate lot is this very nice old antique Violin, Bow& Case.Onthe inside of the violin reads “Jacobus Stainer in Absam probe Oenipontum 1735”(the lastnumber in the date has a varnish stain on it and is very hard to read but itdoes appears to be a 5).Therehave been repairs to this violin as seen in the photos but it was tuned, stayedin tune, and is playable. This ...violin has a very nice tone and resonatesbeautifully. The bow does need the horse hair tightened or replaced. There isalso rosin and an extra string included. Thisviolin, bow and case would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.
