Original Factory Atari 810 Diagnostic Cartridge FD100006 for 8-bit Atari 800 Computer with 810 Disk Drive but will work on XL/XE/XEGM Computer and 1050/XF-551 Disk Drives. The first picture is what many of the cartridges looked like.
I have sold most or all of that particular version label. The 2nd pictures is what I have left today 3/11/2010.
I will hip the best one left to each purchase until I have no more. I had over 30 of these at one time.
I h...ave a couple boxes of misc diag carts off of the assembly line and from engineering.
There may be more of these in those boxes????
Some have names on them from the person manning a particular work station.
These were made by Atari for internal use..This cartridge has 2 tests.
See Picture 3. The green AV2 is from the monitor and is not from the cart.
Alignment and Burn-In. Both tests require a pre-formated disk. The Alignment test confirms that the drive will read a pre-formated disk. The Burn-In with confirm your drive can write several different patterns of data to all sectors without an error. I will put up an auction for pre-formated disks that will work with this cartridge. The Burn-In will test up to 4 drives at a time and runs about 2 hours per drive. If a printer is hooked up to your computer the test results will be printed out showing the test pattern and how long each of the 10 cycles took to complete. Typical test time is 10 ninutes per test. Time of 13 minutes or more or incomplete patterns means there is a problem with the drive. This test failure in the middle of this test usually indicated the MPU 6507 or internal power supply has a temperature problem.. I believe this test will work on any Atari 800 compatible disk drive and computer like RANA, INDUS, PERCOM, TRACK, ETC., , . I use this test on all drives we sell. This test will verify a disk drive is working correctly over time. It will not tell you what is wrong with a drive only that it fails the Burn-In test.Testing 4 drives takes approx. 8 hours so we usually run these over night and check the printout in the morning. If you do not have a printer hooked up there is not way to check the results once they scroll off the screen.
