A VINTAGE W. WOODS, CHEMIST, PLYMOUTH, DEVON, ORNATE DESIGN, 1s AREA NUT TOOTH PASTE POTLID + ORIGINAL WOODS BASE POT from the early c1880's period which has been found buried in a domestic rubbish tip a few years ago. The lid measures 7.5cm in diameter and with the pot is 4cm high when in position on the base. The lid is in GOOD CONDITION being white and clean with full gloss sheen to the glazed surface, there are no hairlines or cracks, the highly detail...ed strongly printed transfer is crystal clear showing every detail, there is some light staining on the side of the flange at 8 o'clock with a shallow flake on the flange underneath (with no other damage), the base or pot is a genuine Woods base but it is not the original however it fits really well and is clean with no chips, cracks or hairlines, there is a slight tarnish stain flange edge underneath caused by over 100 years of burial but it cannot be seen when the lid is on display. I am quite happy to combine purchases for buyers to help save on postage and shipping costs.
