Antique Chinese Gold Gilt Lacquer Pierced Wood Mao Zedong Dynasty Temple Carving

For sale we have collectible piece which comes from a premium collection of old Chinese and Asian ethnographic pieces. Here we have an intricate openwork temple carving, possibly from the Guangdong Province. It futures Mao Zedong, his followers, and the little red book. This piece depicts the former Chairman of the Communist Party of China, from 1964 to about 1976 and widely distributed dur...ing the Cultural Revolution. It is magnificent! Exact age unknown but a local expert said it could be around 80 years old. It is in good condition with a few small scratches and one small crack - see photo. I believe it is made of camphor wood. Measures 11 3/4" across,  16 3/4" tall, and 1 3/4" thick - weighs 3 pounds. Similar pieces have previously sold for thousands of dollars! Thanks for looking. Please see photos for more details.
