D.F. Briggs Co of Attleboro, Mass. (founded by D.F. Briggs in 1892) made this unusual estate 10k gold filled whirling logs locket bracelet. The whirling log is set with sparkling clear paste stones. If you have not heard the term "paste", it refers to very old leaded glass stones that were created as early as the 1730s. Some of the stones appear darker because of the age patina to the metal behind them. The locket opens easily and closes securely. It has one original frame and insert w...ith a yellow paper underneath. The stretchy bracelet links are S-shaped with a hinge-like design. Without stretching the total inner circumference is approx. 4 1/2 inches. When stretching it should be able to fit a wrist up to 6 1/2 inches. The inside is signed, "The D.F.B. Co." and maked, "Carmen, patented, 19". The metal tested as 10k gold fill (no hallmark). There is vintage age wear to this bracelet with loss of gold in places, expected fine scratches, some larger scratches to the face of the locket, dark patina under paste stones, wear and loss of gold to edge of locket near where you open it, as photographed.
