Vintage 1987 Siemens 10 MHz 8088 CPU SAB8088 - 1 - P 40 - Pin Pull
Item History & Price
Siemens SAB8088-1-P pulled from a working 10 MHz Epson Equity I+
Here is a processor from 1987, designed by Intel but made by Siemens.
This is a 16-bit CPU with an 8-bit memory bus. It runs at 10 MHz. Many PC games from the 1980s were written with timed screens, and assumed that users had a 4.77 MHz 8088, as used in the IBM PC and XT. These games were too difficult to play at faster speeds, so hardware manufacturers started to equip their cases with a "turb...o button" which toggled the processor speed between 4.77 MHz and (in this case) 10 MHz. The Epson system which used this particular processor actually used a dip switch to select the processor speed.
You will receive only the exact CPU pictured here. Your CPU will arrive working with all pins straight and as pictured.
I offer a 30 day return privilege and free shipping within the U.S.
