Vintage Pair of Mid Century Menus - World Trade Center - Windows on the World Restaurant - Wines Menu and Hors D'Oeuvrerie Menu. 1978. This auction is for two (2) menus. This auction is for a pair of vintage menus from the renowned and ill fated Windows on the World Restaurant located on the 107th Floor of the World Trade Center. The restaurant and both towers of the World Trade Center were tragically destroyed in the infamous terrorist attacks o...f September 11, 2001.Each menu is four pages counting the front and back covers. Each features a mid century design in a sepia toned color. The interior of the Wine Menu is stamped 8-78-500 which appears to indicate it is one of 500 copies printed in August 1978. The Hors D'Oeuvrerie menu is not dated but is the same size and design and both were acquired from the same estate - thus, it too is estimated to be from 1978 as well.CONDITION: Good vintage condition for a 40+ year old piece of ephemera. These are not new and were used in a restaurant - thus both have age/use related patina including stains, edge wear, and creasing. The Hors D'Oeuvrerie menu has a 1.25" split at the bottom of the spine. The Wine Menu has three dog eared (creased) corners, a 1" pen mark on the interior, and a 4" crease near the top where it was presumably grasped while ordering. The rear of the Wines menu has pronounced yellowing on the bottom of the rear page .
