Vintage Studio Anna: Salt And Pepper Shakers Jenolan Caves, NSW Broken Column
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:7190459 | Colour: Brown |
Original/Reproduction: Antique Original |
These are Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers from Jenolan Caves, NSW, Australia depicting the Broken Column which is in the Lucas Cave. These salt and pepper shakers have no bottom cork, however this could be replaced easily if you wanted to use them. They are hand painted and would have been made by Studio Anna in the 1950s. Although they are not signed as such, Studio Anna pieces often just had a gold sticker.
They both stand 8.5cm (3 3/8th") tall. The widest part is... at the base which measures 5.8cm (2 1/4") across . The top measures approx 4.5cm (1 3/4") diametrically across. Together they weigh 110gms. There is a light uniform crazing on the cream part of the glaze, but none on the coloured part. There are no chips or cracks. These salt and pepper shakers are rare- I have never seen any other ceramic/china objects depicting Jenolan Caves except for Shelley.
These are from my personal collection.
