Excellent quality genuine 162 year old example, in lovely condition, and an impressive size with a decorative engraved silver blade and complete with its original decorative silver handle. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions.Measurements Large size, measures approx. 8 inches (203mm) in length. The blade measures 3.95 inches (99mm) x 1.1 inches (27mm) wide.Date English antique early Victorian solid sterling silver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1857 (date letter "O"). There are matching silver hallmarks on the handle too, so guaranteed all matching and definitely all silver. Excellent clear struck marks and includes the silver duty stamp of Queen Victoria.Maker Silversmiths initials "R & S", (Roberts & Slater - 1854-1865). Condition Lovely condition and ready to be used. No splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, and no nasty knocks or dents, a very nice example. The silver handle is tight and secure, (no movement) and there are no added personal inscriptions.
