For your consideration we are pleased to offer this fine quality antique Caviar / butter serving dish. The dish is quite old and its quality not so typical of the period in that it has been tiered in multiple segments allowing for ice to be placed just below accordingly allowing the Caviar or butter itself to be preserved and allow an over all fresh consistency throughout the meal or service and the retention of the overall freshness of whatever product is placed inside. The dish is qu...ite lovely indeed and decorative too, it has an abundance of unique design features not commonly found in items of this nature. These include four guards standing just over the contents, they stand with shields in hand ready to battle with all on comers as well stand as if ready to fight. At the top of the service is a well defined whippit dog or some other such similar breed of dog seemingly offering himself up as handle for entrance to whatever condiment be placed inside, for this will be left unto you the buyer of this wonderful old antique silver-plate serving vault. Measures approx. 7 .50" high x 7 " handle to handle...the butter knife appears to be a marriage. Condition is good with wear, scratches, a ding or two noted ..Thank you for your interest...
