Here is a super cool early OLD SCHOOL MONGOOSE freestyle 20" BMX bike. I BELIEVE this bike was made in 1979! (Serial number is CH97 198651, See pics and be your own judge) BMX bikes are super cool! I look for bikes daily and I have not found a cool "old school" BMX in a long time! When I was young, BMX racing was HOT! All the guys in the area traveled and raced locally. I am amazed any of the bikes of this era survived! I was super happy to find this one!
I got this one exactly like you see it a long time ago! It has the original paint CHROMOLY Mongoose frame with original decals shown! Has a cool headtube decal, chrome forks with original decals and more. Look close! The OLD SCHOOL BMX bikes are hot and I can guarantee will only go UP in value! Why? Us "Gen X" people are starting to get established and want to own thing we had when we were young. These were a high quality low production bikes. The rarely come up for sale now and even less will be available in the future. Not trying to throw you any sales pitch, this is simply the truth on how these things work.I got this one from a local who purchased it new locally! This was his sons bike from the early 1980s. It has been stashed up in the attic of their garage for many years and cant wait to be enjoyed once again! It has been stored away for 25+ years and has not seen the light of day since! Be the first to get this one out there and enjoy it! THIS IS A REAL DEAL SURVIVOR! This one belongs in a museum! IF you love old school BMX bikes, DO NOT let this one get away! A rare opportunity to say the least! Best part is I would never restore it! Its amazing just like it is!
The bike features; an original paint and decal frame, old school Mongoose seat, Mongoose seat post clamp, cool handlebars, old school Oakley hand grips, unique neck/stem, KKT LIGHTNING pedals, and more. I like the anodized wheels. (they are NOT rubbed from hand brakes! WOW!) Color on the rear wheel is slightly lighter than the front. The knobby tires hold air. The bike has cool Mongoose frame bar pads. (faded slightly, bike may look cooler without them)
This is a super cool bike you can ride and have fun with. A cool item to display! BMX bikes are getting more popular! They make a good investment that will only go UP in value. Most were abused and throw away back in the day and are getting much harder to find now! They will only be worth more money in the future! This is much better than money in the bank or trying to invest in the stock market. You will LOVE this bike! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. Comes as you see it with parts shown.
*The distance from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat post tube is approx 18".
*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is quite respectable for its age! (see pics and be your own judge. I took MANY and have nothing to hide!) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Most of these were heavily abused and thrown away years ago! I have been honored to own this and hope you take GOOD care of it and enjoy it for decades! This is a better investment than money in the bank!
