Gorgeous Long 60" Whitby Jet Faceted bead necklace. Original sage green knotting. All beads are in very good condition with only the occasional minor chip seen. Each bead is hand faceted so no two are exactly alike. Each bead is approx 8mm. Total weight is 52 Grams. I did a streak test and also a static test. Pics up a tissue when rubbed on wool. Characteristic of Whitby it is lighter weight than a glass necklace. If I use a loupe I can s...ee some tiny little strands of brick in a few of the beads. The polish is a beautiful lustre. No clasp and can be wrapped 3 times or knotted. Wonderful feel to this piece and it can be worn in so many ways. Part of an estate inherited from English Ancestors many years ago.
