Vintage Navajo Design Whirling Log NEEDLEPOINT PILLOW Sand Painting Yei Weaving

This highly unusual vintage needlepoint pillow seems to be based on the design of a Navajo sand painting weaving with its whirling log design and yei figures. It’s beautifully needlepointed and the pillow is very well constructed with rusty orange piping and a tan velveteen back. There’s no zipper or opening so I’m not sure what the pillow insert is made of, but it’s not feathers. It's firm and seems to be in good shape.
The pillow measures about 16.5 ...x 16 inches and is every so slightly “off” in terms of being perfectly square. There are also some light imprints on the back of the pillow, which will likely go away. Please take a close look at the photos. Otherwise, it’s in excellent vintage condition. A rare and quite wonderful decorative piece.
