Vintage 1950 ' S Cram ' S Cloth - Back Pull - Down Map Of Africa

1950s vintage pull-down map of Africa (number CS-6) published by the George F. Cram Company. This map is from a series of washable markable surface maps that let students and teachers write directly onto the map and the erase what they had written. The map area measures 50 3/4" wide x 52" tall. Though there is no publication date there are many countries that no longer exist as named on the map (Upper Volta 1954; Bechuanaland 1885-1966; Nyasaland 1953-1963; etc.). For whatever reason t...hey saw fit to include a map of Australia on this as well. This comes with its hanger rail and 'Africa' marked pull tab. In used vintage condition, with one end taped onto the wood dowel and a couple of small holes in the lower brown area, none in the map (as seen in second last image).
