For sale is a super quality Antique Sampler from 1835. This piece was made by Anne Evan's- age 14 years. This has a depiction of York Cottage flanked by 2 animal figures. Below the cottage are 2 figures of a boy and girl - possibly Adam and Eve, as there appears to be a servant climbing the tree. Copy in the top areas reads " Let old and young attend his ways and at his feet their honours lay. Thou shalt not steal". The colors are all very bright and the threads are in remarkable condi...tion. There is a glass pane inside the frame. And actually the colors are more vibrant as I was getting a slight reflection when taking the photos. The back has it's original backing board. The solid walnut frame is newer. Overall size is 15" x 21". Inside frame is 11" x 17" . The background fabric has slight staining at the bottom right. This is a quite remarkable piece. You won't be disappointed.
