"William S Hart."(December 6, 1864 – June 23, 1946) William S. Hart led a pretty incredible life. He was an American silent screenwriter, director, and actor, remembered for being the “foremost western star” of the silent era. Westerns were suited Hart very well as he was an avid enthusiast of the Wild West. He became close friends Wyatt Earp (the American Frontiersman best known for his participation in the notorious gunfight at the O.K Corral) and served as a pallbearer in... his funeral. William S. Hart continued his love of the Wild West by becoming an avid collector and even eventually purchasing Billy the Kid’s revolver. William S. Hart was one of the most popular movie stars of his time and in 1975 he was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.After his death in 1946 Hart left his home to LA County so that it could be used as a park and museum as part of his legacy saying, "When I was making pictures, the people gave me their nickels, dimes, and quarters. When I am gone, I want them to have my home." He was friends with Amelia Earhart, which happened after he complained about a plane flying overhead that turned out to be hers. .16 mm Original Film "William S. Hart" Reel in Locking Box . Condition is Very Good..This 16mm film was recently retiredby the NC. Department of Cultural Resources Division of State Library alongwith other 16mm films during changes to the department.
