Julie Nixon Eisenhower was really into needlework in the 70's. She designed this kit after a plaque that her husband, David, had received from his grandma Mamie (President Eisenhower's wife). It had the poem "Bless This House", written
by Helen Taylor, well over 100 years ago. On the back of the plaque, Mamie inscribed, "For David, this plaque hung inthe family quarters of the White House for the 8 years of your grandfather's tenure as President of the United States of Americ...a from 1953-1961. Love, your grandmother Mimi. Mamie Doud Eisenhower. Julie said that the bounty of fruits and flowers, the bluebirds of happiness, and the doves of Peace remind us of all the good things in life.This is just a beautiful sentiment and design that could hold a treasured spot in any home decor.
