A very fine pre-Columbian solid gold pendant (part of a larger pectoral ornament) from the Chavin culture in the Andean highlands, Peru, circa 900 BC to 200 AD, from the former Jim Butler collection. The condition is fair to good, about 22 mm wide by 36 mm (about 1-3/8 inches) from top to bottom. The pendant is made of hammered sheet gold (about 0.6 grams), and was tested at 18 karat solid gold, not plated or depletion gilded, and comes with a photographic Certificate of Authenti...cation certifying the gold content.Alternative shipping methods are available.
