I have a very beautiful item for sale today. It is a metal Chinese opium box lavishly decorated with Guardian Lions (aka Foo Lions, Fu Lions, or Lion Dogs) on the front, back, and lid.
*This box has been signed with maker's mark on the bottom. I asked a friend in China to translate the signature. They were not 100% sure, but they think the signature reads: 岳恒
*I believe the metal to be bronze, but it could be brass or copper.
*I know that this item was pur...chased in China in the early 20th century, but I have no other details about the age of this item.
*Measurements: 2 1/5" high x 2 1/2" wide x 1 1/10" thick.
