Original J & E Stevens Eagle & Eaglets mechanical bank cir. 1883.Still has its original paint and original glass eyes and original working bellows ! These are usually found with the bellows all dried out.Most you find working have replaced bellows.These are 100 % original.To operate , place a coin into the mother eagles beak.Press the lever on the back and she bends over as if to feed her babies and drops the coin into the nest slot.At the same time , the babies rear ...up as if to be fed.You will hear the chirping when you crank on the lever.No cracks or damage to the cast iron but the coin door does have a chip out of it.It is too small for any coins to fall out.The bottom is cast " PAT JAN 23 1883 ". The bank works well.A nice early Americana childs toy to add to your collection.Size is aprox. 6 " tall x 6 3/4 " long x 4 " deep.The shipping total includes insurance and delivery confirmation.Please view all the other banks we have up for auction.Good luck should you decide to bid !
