Superb Victorian jewellery box in beautiful french polished figured walnut with Tunbridge/parquetry bands of various exotic woods in a very colourful intricate design. The box also has hexagonal shaped Tunbridge inlay to the lid cartouche and on the lock escutcheon complete with its fully working original lock and tasseled key. The interior of the box is fitted in shades of green and has a lift out jewellery tray with several divided sections including a ring holder slot an...d a central lidded compartment trimmed in sage green satin with pearlised handle, below the tray is a generous storage area finished in matching colour. The under lid liner is in deep padded and studded sage green satin with complimentary sage braid trim. At the base the box is finished with a green protective pad. This very pretty box with exceptional inlay has been professionally and sympathetically restored to a high standard and with a lovely refurbished interior is now ideal for your jewellery items or other precious keepsakes.
