Description:Gorgeous vintage piano shawl. It has been difficult to date this item, but I believe it dates from the 1920's. Gorgeous ecru silk forms the basis for bright red, pink, and green machine embroidery with a touch of yellow. ...Matching silk fringe is a whopping 18" long. Shawl itself measures 52" x 46".
Condition:Shawl is in good condition. There are a couple of spots on the silk (pictured) that will get lighter with cleaning, but will probably not come out completely. The fringe is a little wiry on the ends, but not tangled and this can be easily fixed. There are a couple of spots where the embroidery floss has been snagged, but no missing embroidery sections. No tears.
I have a degree in textiles and apparel along with a background in fabric and garment conservation. I have performed the following conservation techniques:-Garment has been vacuumed to remove dust.

I usually do not dry clean clothing prior to shipping. Dry cleaning is harsh on fabrics and shipping will inevitably produce wrinkles. I believe that the customer is better served by having the item dry cleaned once they receive it.
I ship all my antique and true vintage garments via priority mail using boxes. All garments are wrapped to prevent degradation or damage during shipping. I am happy to combine shipping as long as it does not pose a danger to the garments to do so.
