Vintage Blue Willow Phoenix Bird-Flying Turkey's Platter Japan 12 by 8 1/2 in
A very beautiful and interesting platter. I have posted pictures of imperfections created in the plate's creation. I cannot verify the "T" in the stamp on the back of the platter. But, seeing a curve of the sides, and a small smear of blue color on the back side of the plate. Also, a picture of indentation that looks like it is not a damage mark, but was part of the creation a...nd completed the processing procedures. These irregularities lead me to believe that the platter may well be antique and man made in the 1800's. And Please, if anyone out there knows more about the stamp message me.
Truly a beautiful platter! The color is such a glorious blue and the birds are magnificent. The patterning around the edges of the plate is intricate and elegant.
There are no cracks or chips. There are a few small scratches on the plate. This plate has been displayed in a home for years.
