A Knowledgeable Ebay shared this information about this dagger with me "It is a 19th century Bali keris dagger. This particular keris is dressed in a "walikat" style sheath with a kocet-kocetan hilt which is meant to represent a certain type of local beetle. The blade is a form of pattern weld forging involving folding and layering the steel with a nickel content "pamor" that create the silvery threads in the pattern. The keris is initially a product of the Hindu culture that ruled the Indonesian area lastly with the Majapahit Empire, though it was adopted by the Islamic culture that took over the area in the 15th century. But Bali remained a Hindu stronghold so this Baki keris is actually a Hindu dagger, not an Islamic one.
