This beautiful antique mahogany federal secretary bookcase is from the early 1800's! Height is 95", width 43 1/4", depth is 20 1/2". The wood finish varies from fair to very good condition. All the hinges, locks, and drawers work, although some work with a small amount of difficulty. 3 of the glass panes have cracks, the others are fine. 3 pieces of trim around the glass have come off, but they are stored in one of the small drawers. The metal trim i...n the keyholes for some of the locks is missing, but one has been recovered. The key works for the bookshelf, but the key to the drawers is missing. One leg is at an angle, the others are fine. It is structurally about a 7 out of 10. Some of the wood is warped, but only a very little bit. In general, all the pieces fit together nicely. There is some evidence of one or two restoration attempts from over 40 years ago, and these are shown in some of the pictures. It's beautiful and functional as it is, but it really needs quite a bit of love to restore it to its original glory.
