Metallwarenfabrik, or WMF, of Germany. The ostrich mark on the bottom was used around 1905 - 1910. It is decorated in the Jugendstil or Viennese Secessionist style.
The basket is oval in shape. It measures 12-1/2" long and 6" across the widest part. It is 9" in height to the top of the handle. The sides of the metal basket are 2" high, and the glass liner extends up another 3/8".
The glass liner is original to the piece, and is removeable. It has engraved lines and squares on the bottom side. There is a small chip or flea bite on the rim.
The silver plating is worn down to the brass base in spots, but it still looks great and displays well.
