For your consideration is a nice group of original wartime era photographs all related to the US Navy, aircraft and pilots. 1. Hellcat landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier, taken from a scrap book at some point and has the caption “Home Sweet Home” written below the large photo. 8 ¾” by 5 ½”.2. 2 Navy pilots in uniform, both with pilots wings. Large photo 8” by 5”3. A group of Navy pilot...s, some wearing flying helmets. Has a stamp on the reverse dated May 1940, Pensacola Florida. 4 ½” by 2 ¾” 4. Group of Navy officers on a tram or trailer, maybe heading to or from the flight line. Has a stamp on the reverse dated May 1940, Pensacola Florida. 4 ½” by 2 ¾” 5. A large group of Navy officers. 4” by 2 ¾”. Has a stamp on the reverse dated May 1940, Pensacola Florida. 4 ½” by 2 ¾” 6. A carrier photo showing Hellcats about to take off and can see some Curtis Helldivers on the stern. USS Essex is written on the reverse of the photograph. 5” by 4”.7. A cool photograph of a Hellcat coming in to land on a carrier – I am guessing on that but the tail hook is in the down position. USS Essex is written on the reverse of the photograph. 5” by 4”.8. A nice photograph of a US Navy Aircraft Carrier taken from shore or from a port. I could not find any identifying marks etc. 3 ½” by 2 ½”.9. An interesting photo of what I think is a TBM Avenger coming in to land but the pilot is not lined up well at all as the aircraft is banked quite severely. No identifying marks or writing on the picture. 4” by 2 ¼”.10. What looks like a Hellcat lined up nicely for landing on an aircraft carrier. No identifying marks or writing on the picture. 4” by 2 ¼”.11. A picture taken from perhaps the hangar deck looking out at either a Hellcat or an Avenger flying off of the aircraft carrier. No identifying marks, 5’ by 3 ½”. 12. What looks like a TBM coming in to land on an aircraft carrier, no marks or writing, this photo wasn’t developed well as there is some shading. 5” by 3 ½”.
