My beautiful, stunning, gorgeous, impeccable Elgin 14k solid gold working manual wind timepiece for gentlemen.This watch is so good you can wear it everyday, it works superbly, any watch of this age needs to be checked with the BBC news in the morning over breakfast, this one does not lose much time at all over 24 hours, perhaps 2 minutes at absolute worst, so synchronise with the BBC.Arabic Neumerals, plus a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 position, fabulous movement signed as in the... white face.Cushion shaped and quite large for this period. Original strap I'm sure but the buckle is not 14k that said, it's done well and I have bees waxed it again. Slight wear on the strap at top left corner but this is such a class act you will not need to replace for the next 30 years.This timepiece is nearly as old as I am, she's a beauty, the gold is immaculate apart from tiny tiny mark at 12. It's part of its long personality.Timepieces of this quality don't get made anymore, this is a stunner. She's elegant, classically styled and a delight to wear and own.I'm not sure of the amount of gold in this watch, but I suggest quite a lot, just look at the case.
All my watches are of the highest level and being a collector over 35 to 40 years I've come to know what s best and it boils down to quality and condition every time.This rare cushion is a big differentiator. Doubtful that you may have the opportunity to find another one of these in this condition.You may find one but again it's quality and condition.
