OVAL REFRIGERATOR DISHES - Vintage - VASELINE GLASS 1930 ' S - 1950 ' S, Set Of 2
Item History & Price
Pictured are 2 attractive dishes made to be used in the refrigerator. Green was a popular color for depression glass pieces, especially refrigerator items. These are Vaseline glass as shown in the black light pictures. The Jeannette Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, made a number of depression items and bought the McKee Plant in 1961 as well. Kitchen ware was one of their glass lines. I could not find these particular items attributed to that compa...ny, but they did make plain dishes to match their own patterns as well as to blend with those of their competitors. The smaller one seems to be just slightly more yellowish green, but they are both quite clearly alike.
The top edges are slightly rough, the smaller one the most, because they originally had flat oval lids, but these pieces are in good condition considering their age and probable uses. There are no cracks or other blemishes. The smaller one measures 6 x 4 x 2" - a nice size for everyday items as well as the larger one measuring 7 x 5 x 2/34" deep. Please check the photos as part of the description. We do not have the lids.
