This item has been tested and working as far as screen lights up with "gameboy" and red light goes (see pictures) on right away with batteries. Unable to test sound or quality beyond that b/c I don't have anymore games. I see no reason it wouldn't work with a game since it has been taken care of, is not scratched up or anything and battery compartment does not have any acid spill/damage...but since I can't test it with a game we are selling AS IS-no returns.
