Bristol : At The Honurable Court of General Sessions of The Peace Begun and Held at Taunton within and For The County of Bristol 2nd Tuesday of March 1778 The Jurors for the Government & People of The Massachusetts Bay in New England for The Body of The County of Bristol upon there Oaths Present That Amos Hall Of Raynham Yeoman on The 1st day of February Last Past at Raynha...m WITH FORCE & ARMS IN AN ON A CERTAIN WAY BEING THIS STATES HIGHWAY BEING FROM THE DWELLING HOUSE OF WIDOW HANNAH HALL TO THE DWELLING HOUSE OF JONATHON HALL OF RAYNHAM USED FOR ALL THE SUBJECTS OF THIS STATE WITH THEIR HORSES CARTS & CARRIAGES TO GO, RETURN, RIDE, PASS & LABOUR AT THERE WILL & PLEASURE UNLAWFULLY & INJURIOUSLY DID ERECT & CAUSE TO BE ERECTED A FENCE CONSITING OF RAILS & POSTS THEREBY ENCLOSING 15 FEET &10 RODS IN LENGTH OF SAID HIGHWAY & THEREBY STRAITENG SAID HIGHWAY & THE SAME FENCE CAUSED TO BE ERECTED ON THE HIGHWAY FROM THE 1st DAY OF FEBRUARY LAST UNTIL THE 10th DAY OF MARCH INSTANT AT RAYNHAM Unlawfully & Injuriously Did Continue By Reason Whereof The Subjects of The State During The Time COULD NOT GO & RETURN IN BY THROUGH THE SAME HIGHWAY AS THEY WERE WANT & OUGHT TO DO TO THE GREAT DAMAGE & COMMON NUSANCE OF ALL THE SUBJECTS OF THIS STATE & AGAINST THE PEACE OF THE GOVERNMENT & PEOPLE.
