AboutItem: TheAutodex was invented by Arnold Neustadter in the 1930's, enabling theperson using it to 'dial' in a letter and the spring-powered Autodexwould pop open at the relevant page.
Thisis a mint condition Autodex Starflite List Finder. It comes with abuilt-in memo pad, pop-up pencil and an area code directory. Thecolor of the Autodex is Telephone Brown, according to what is printedon the box. The lettering and emblem on the front are printed ingold. The Autodex is made ...of metal. The telephone directory appearsto have never been used before. On the first page you can write thenumbers for Fire, Police, Doctor and Hospital. On the last page areprinted all the area code available at that time for each state, which on this card, only 48, plus Washing D.C. are listed.
Thepencil is gold in color and has Zephyr Titan printed on it. Both thememo pad and the pencil appear to have never been used.
