5 Vintage WEDGWOOD MOTHER’S DAY PLATES: 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1975You are bidding on five previously owned and displayed Wedgewood Jasperware 6 ½ inch Mother’s day plates that were issued yearly starting in 1971. Each is different. Each is marked Wedgwood Made in England. Some have a two digit year date. Some have initials thought to be the craft person’s initial. The series started with a basalt (black) plate trimmed in gold leaf wreath. On its face... it is marked “Mother”. The embossed center design is the same basalt color of the field. The second plate is a true jasperware plate that is green with white applied design. It is marked Mother 1972. The third plate is a true jasperware plate that is sky blue with white applied design. It is marked Mother 1973. The fourth plate is the same blue with white applied design, marked Mother 1974. The last plate in the lot is dark blue with white design and is marked Mother 1975. No chips, crazing or repairs. An occasional mark. They all might need a good cleaning. I have two other auctions with more Mother’s Day plates by Wedgwood. With a multiple purchase total postage may be reduced.
