Antique Chinese Red Silk Colorful Embroidered Peony Butterfly Robe Jacket
This antique vintage Chinese red silk colorful embroidered peony butterfly robe jacket dates from the 1920s. It is made of a red silk fabric with colorful raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work peony flowers, vases and butterflies with the Chinese wan symbol of Buddha's heart embroidered in red on the wings. This lucky red robe jacket has a short mid length loose fitting su...rcoat style, with a mandarin collar, long full wide sleeves, black silk trim edging, knotted toggle carved round brass button closures down the front and is fully lined in a red silk fabric with an old "Made in China" label sewn inside. The robe measures 27 inches long, with a 46 inch chest, 14 inch neck and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in good as-is condition, with some fraying on the inside silk lining, a few faint small stains which are difficult to see and a small fray on the front top (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of Chinese wearable art!
