Here is a fantastic Americana Folk Art sign advertising a Blacksmith Shop made in the shape of a horseshoe featuring the image of an anvil in the middle with hand-painted Old English Gothic style lettering to both sides. It measures 19" at it's widest point and 34" tall from tip to tip. The hanging bracket is wrought iron, made no doubt by the blacksmith himself. This sign came out of a rural auction in South Jersey. It has a wonderful, rustic look and dates to ...the late 19th/early 20th century.
CONDITION: weathered, original. Some losses to wood from many years outside. Roughly 1/4 of the original sign board is missing, broken off no doubt many years ago according to the darkened wood at that edge. There are some black metal straps screwed on to stabilize the sign as shown in pictures.
